The colorful stone with variegation, the rarest stone on the sea in
China, is located in Shandong's Rongcheng at the east end of Jiaodong
Peninsula. It is composed of tuff, a type of basic lava in volcano
eruption over 500 million years ago. The stone, which is gigantic and
strange in appearance, is the only rare stone on the sea along China's
18,000-kilometer coastline, with an integrated characteristic of marine
stack, texture and pumice.
