Under the Flame Mountain in Xinjiang's Turpan stands a huge thermometer
in the shape of golden cudgel used by the monkey king in "Journey to the
West." This thermometer is 12 meters tall and 0.45 meter in diameter and
able to measure the temperature within 100 degrees Celsius. It was
recently learned that this thermometer has been chosen into Shanghai's
Guinness record.
