Folk customs in Northeast China

Xianglu (incense burner) Mountain tourist resort, which is located in Bin
County only 78 kilometers away from Harbin City, becomes a typical route
in 2006 "folk customs and cultural tourism" on Jan. 24. It is a
combination of entertainment on ice and snow with folk customs in
northern China during the Spring Festival, including sleeping on a Kang
(Chinese heated brick bed) in rural families, having frozen dumplings,
tasting meat and vegetable stew, lighting firecrackers, pasting Spring
Festival couplets, rising a sled, skating, skiing, playing peg-tops,
appreciating ice lanterns and so on.
